  • No updates for half a decade, iOS app crashes on launch

Time to burn Roland to the ground, folks... Thankfully, houses doing new installs aren’t spec’ing Roland gear...but there are still a decent number of M-5000 consoles in the wild, and I encounter them fairly regularly as a pro audio tech. But these days, I feel a chill each and every time I see a Roland desk at front of house... The hardware was never great, (REAC stage boxes are frighteningly hit-or-miss). The software on the desk looked promising, but stayed buggy... And now the entire platform seems to have been abandoned. Specifically, this iPad app doesn’t work on modern iOS installs - AT ALL. It crashes immediately upon launch. Ringing out monitors in a room with this desk now takes 4x as long... That’s unacceptable, given that Roland charged FIVE FIGURES for this system only a few years ago. Garbage app, garbage console, garbage company. Please don’t buy a Cube, either. Buy a real amp.
