  • Graphics in Big Sur

    This game used to be awesome but the graphics in Big Sur make it look like something from the 90's. At least I can still use a joystick in this game. The other Atypical games they have 'updated' recently have lost the ability to use a joystick in MacOS. I really don't get the point of a combat flight simulator that can't use a joystick.

    TL;DR: Yes, you can use a joystick with the game so long as you set it up first. I'm using a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro and it works fine. -- GOOD: It's a very fun game, the graphics are great, and it's a great way to spend an afternoon. Upgrades are reasonably priced (e.g., new planes) and completely customizeable. Cloud saves are awesome. MARGINAL: They need to update some of the graphics (e.g., glitches) and sound (e.g., uneven volume). I've only had 1-2 lockups in a few months so it's likely OK code but still needs refining. BAD: Servers are a bit slow to update. Fewer and fewer gamers play this game anymore. Lots of silly little cheats (e.g., bombs used in A2A combat?). An otherwise great game but marred by neglect and lack of updates.

    First time I played, at normal sound levels, it blew out a speker in my MacBook Pro laptop. DO NOT BUY! DO NOT NOT BUY! DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!

    The game never worked for me. It freezes when starting a dogfight. I contacted support to get my money back, but never got an answer.

    So they bill this game as working with a joystick which is the only reason I bought it. Nope doesn't work. When you contact support all you hear are crickets. No support, not able to use joystick and no refund. If I could give it a negative star I would.

  • Throtle won’t stay fully open

    What is the point of making a decent game bad by not allowing the throttle to stay in full power unless it is constantly depressed on the keyboard? The first version did not do that, why does this one? No airplaine flys that way. It is irritating. I am not downloading it again until it is fixed.

    HORRIBLE. Sky Raiders One was the best dog fight WWII game EVER. But it was never really updated, no new maps to play on, no new features. I played this game for YEARS, it was an adrenalin filled game thats never existed before or after. Version 2 is like some bad PC nightmare kid programmed game, really slow action, simple minded features, boring. I bought it and found out nobody is even online playing this game, no one showed up. Looks like it died with Mojave. Five dollars gone forever. RIP Sky Raiders, what a sad slow death.

    That sorry rating will go up as soon as they fix all these problems. When it's working this is a great game. At least the orginal game was. Of course that doesn't work on the OS.
