Description

rrarrow is the experimental noise machine / modular audio effect for the iOS featuring extended feedback capabilities. Key features: - Simplicity. The interface is simplified for faster assembly and more flexible connectivity — you can assemble your effect very fast and control all the processing parameters with the audio signal! - Feedback capabilities. You can add feedbacks to the audio chain to get some chaotic noise sounds . - 20 blocks for audio processing: - Sine generator. Basic oscillator with sine waveform - Saw and square oscillators - Signal multiplier - Delay - Frequency shifter - Envelope follower - “Lorenz attractor” - Quantizer - Sample-and-hold - Reverb - Special Lowpass filter - Clipper - Nonlinear shaper (for self-oscillating circuit) - two special waveshaping modules with “fold” and “wrap” distortion blocks that work with audiofiles: - lookup table. Loads up to 10 seconds of audiofile to be used as nonlinear transfer function - Players with/without interpolation and speed control - "scrub" block for semi-random granular file playback - Built-in audio recorder. Share the audio file to other applications or AudioShare. - MIDI support! Assign MIDI controllers to all faders. Supports network midi and has a virtual MIDI in. - Audiobus support. Now you can stream live audio directly to other Audiobus-compatible apps! See http://audiob.us for more information. Works as input and filter. - Audiobus state saving support - Inter-App Audio support - Background audio support: enabled when connected to Audiobus and user switchable otherwise. The 'background audio" switch is located in app's "settings" page iPad2/iPhone4S or newer is recommended for complex presets this app is optimized for iPad and iPhone 5 To get started please watch the tutorial videos on the website and read the user guide inside the app

Alex, it’s fun - give us AUv3 and I’m sure it will have a revival! …plus a fifth star

App still works but its inter-app audio is broken on my new phone. Would be nice to see it updated to auv3 like Phawuo.

This thing has feedback loop concepts that I have never even thought of, it’s really cool and inspiring. Any human into experimental sound designs and a dope wire interfaces will agree that the robot here is ace. This can get noisy and just thick it’s really cool.

i do t pretend to totally understand this synth lol.. but some of the presets are freeking amazing. granular scrub, feedback, distortion. i want more more more presets !!! i downloaded this a while ago and didn't give it the time it needed to see its potential.dig into it it is worth it.. wow very cool, indeed . this is NOISE not pretty emo/idm .. love it

The app doesn't waste anytime trying to mimic an analogue modular with wires and dials but rather uses simple geometric shapes as audio faders, signal generators, filters, etc. which fit together much like Lego. You can fit a surprisingly large number of these elements together in a single patch to get some real variety in your sounds that's not either random nor exactly like chip tunes either. The modules are color coded so you can select which ones are controlled in unison by the midi CC (21-28) which can be quite handy if you have a midi hardware controller or virtual midi apps that send CC. Audiobus compatible as either an input or effect. Keep your volume down initially with headphones as this can get very loud. Although you can save patches, there is currently no easy way to share them via import or export. It works great and is very useful on an iPad 2 and doesn't bring your iPad to its knees even with complex patches.
