Todoist: To-Do List & Tasks

I used Todoist on a trial basis as I was looking at a different task manager. After using Todoist on a trial basis, I am going back to Things 3 which is what I used to use. I like the integration options and the mechanics of how the Todoist works. I just could not get past how bland and boring the interface is. The inability to customize it, particularly with colors to my liking, was the deciding factor. For instance, you can put a color on a tag, but literally, just the outline of the tag has the color. I can't see it or distiguish it from any of the other tags. I've been using a color-coded system my whole life and I don't feel like changing. I get that the developers may not want a lot of color in their application like Things 3 or 2Do, but I wish more color customization was included, and you could either turn it on and off depending on your preference. Todoist is an excellent application and I definitely recommend trying it out.

I subscribed to Todoist Premium a month ago and since then I've been unable to login to their Mac or Windows native apps. Support hasn't helped nor has Apple issued a refund.

doesnt sync in real time compared to other to do apps, has a sync button but it never updates quickly with what i have done on my phone. I have to grab my phone making it useless on my mac

App not working after update. Opens and is completely blank white. I quit and reopen same thing. Rebooted the mac no change.

This is a superb application. It is easy to use, yet provides as much (or as little) in the way of features as one needs. It is powerful but doesn't get in the way. I started using this years ago and have never looked back.

Great app - bugs, when they pop up, are squashed quickly. Great work!

I'm trying Todoist after using Reminders for a long time, but a couple bugs they haven't fixed are problematic, and I used Wunderlist for years before MS bought it... I'm trying out Todoist and TickTick as my possible replacements. Ticktick has some annoying UI/UX things, but some of their feature implementations work better than in Todoist... Todoist is WAY more polished/refined from a UI perspective there there are a lot of small annoyances in TickTick that add-up; for example, creating a clickable link in Todoist is way cleaner looking than in TickTick... but while in general the UI tends to be overall better, there are some design decisions that create a lot of extra clicking around in Todoist that I don't have to do in Reminders or TickTick; e.g. the "Labels"/Tags get burried in another menu and you have to add them to a "Favorites" list to show up in the sidebar (which you can't change the order they appear). Another example is setting up Recurrence can only be done with NLP, which sometimes you just want a UI setting to go change... we're used to it from Calendar recurrences, or Reminders or Wunderlist MS Todo... Taking away the UI element for this and using only NLP feels awkward... Provide NLP, but also provide the UI settings to interact with (also TickTick has some great Recurrence options I'd like Todoist to adopt). Feature sets between TickTick and Todoist are very close, but they are both also full of annoyances and I feel like I'm making a decision based on which UI/UX design decisions annoy me less, vs making my decisions based more than which tool "Wows" me. I was expecting to be "Wowed" based on the previous reviews and accolades, and frankly, I'm just kind of "Meh, it's okay."

Downloaded and deleted. If I have to pay for reminders on my Mac, I'm out. That's crazy.

It's not bad, but not a whole lot better than others that are free. Here are a few things that could be better: Make it easier to set up recurring tasks. As it is, you must type in "daily" or "weekly" etc. It's difficult to see this until it shows up on that day (if it does) and impossible to edit it to tweak for differences in months with different total days (31, 30, 28, etc.) especially for weekly tasks. Allow us to set up recurring tasks that can be descarded if not completed. As it is now, they show late, but remain in the inbox and on the "Today" list. What happens if we miss one, but then want a new one for the next day? Now you can only complete it or delete it. That's not what happens in reality. On projects there's a character limit of 15k. That's enough for a good bit, but once it gets full, it makes me just go back to using MS Word, which is unlimited. Reminders for a certain date and time are bulky and clumsy. They default to weird times and it's not user friendly to fix them on a phone (it's easier on a Mac, but I use this 90% of the time from my phone). They should use a calendar instead of the canned date thing they have now.

i discovered todoist october of 2022 and received a 3.9 gpa for my senior year. this is definitely the way to go!! follow a kanban board style if you want to ace your exams!!!!!
