  • So Useful

Edited: The latest update causes the app to constantly freeze and not work. They ruined it! Yes, it's a pain to stop throughout the day to log what I eat and my workouts, but it's so necessary! It's so easy to snack so much you totally forget what you have consumed, and those calories really add up! This app keeps me honest, and helps to teach you what to eat to keep your macros in line. After a while, you get a feel for nutrition and portions, and you may not need it. I always come back, because when I know I have to log that piece of chocolate, it's suddenly not that desirable. I usually lose about 10 lbs. during the first month of use.

For the first year, I use this app, I also used a Fitbit watch to track my steps and calories burned. However, I recently switched to an Apple Watch. I have noticed that the calories burned do not correlate correctly between the iWatch and the app. For example, my watch says I burned 340 cal today based on my 6500 steps, but MyFitnessPal app says I only burned 2 cal. I am unsure if this is a MyFitnessPal issue, or an Apple issue, but I find it frustrating, as every calorie counts in the weight loss journey.

This used to be my favorite app for tracking food and fitness, until you put the barcode scanner behind the paywall.

I've had this app for 7 years or more. Granted, I did fall off the wagon for a few years but I am back! I was surprised to see the wonderful upgrades to the app that happened while I was gone! I have always had good experiences with this app & made progress in my fitness goals. I returned to the app moving “full steam ahead” about 11 days ago and have already lost 6 pounds. The exercise tips & videos are really helpful. I can’t wait to see how I feel & look in 6 months! One of my favorite things is the dark screen with white text in the app. I have vision issues so that dark background REALLY helps me. I signed up for premium version so that I could get all of the full benefits the app offered. Another reason was to get rid of all of the annoying ads. Really, they take away from giving you a great test run of the app for new users to decide if it’s for Them. I think removing a couple ads might even get more users in the door. But, that’s just my opinion. Try it out if your looking for a great way to track your fitness. Good luck on your journey!

I’m getting messages that I’ve logged in the past 5 days and I haven’t.

I have been using my fitness app for about two weeks. I have lost 3 pounds with the beginners and I love this app. I’ve had it for a while but I haven’t used it. I just started using it two weeks ago and I love it.
