Description

Quickly Generate Optimized Cutting Diagrams. You’ve designed the project. How much material are you going to need? How much will it cost? You could spend hours trying to figure out the best way to cut out the parts – or just let Offcuts do it for you. Offcuts is your lumber and plywood sheet calculator helping you minimize waste and maximize productivity. Offcuts will analyze each part of your project, and create a detailed cut list, optimizing for minimal waste. Offcut features: • Create multiple projects • Manage inventory of sheet goods (like plywood) and lumber • Organize parts into logical groups like cabinet and drawers • Parts can ignore grain, letting Offcuts rotate the components on the cut list • Generates detailed cutting lists • Metric and Imperial units supported • A summary report detailing all material required including cost summary • Not just for wooden projects. It can be used with metal, glass, fabric, or any other rectangular materials. Note: The free trial allows you to use Offcuts for 24 hours unrestricted. Once the trial period is over, functionality will be restricted.

  • Great app, could use just a couple more things

Does a good job of giving you an orderly means to make the most of your lumber & other materials. Would be even better if I could make a digital checklist so that once I have my parts list and start cutting, I could tap and check off the pieces I’ve already cut so I have a running tab of what’s been finished and what’s left to cut. That, or at least maybe the option in the existing cut list at the top if I could tap the section I’ve finished and have it turn red to indicate it’s done so I have an immediate visual reference of where I’m at in the cut list progress. Other than that it’s a solid, highly recommend app for organizing efficient woodworking projects.

This is very useful for project planning and minimizing waste. My only suggestion would be to added the ability edit part placement on the cut list. It would be very useful when I need to grain match parts together. Overall I am super happy with this app.
  • Ok for small project. Infuriating for large project

Lots of manual work and seems useful for optimizing material. I gave up on it fora whole house project. Reordering groups has a bug that after reordering, they go back to alphabetical order. Cant duplicate whole groups, just parts which means you have to move each part one by one to create a duplicate group. If you forget to hit save before moving to the next part, it does not remember the changes or give a warning that changes weren’t saved. Unless you notice the miss, cutlist will be wrong
  • A great app for woodworkers

I was looking for an inexpensive, easy-to-use application to generate cut lists and found Offcuts. The interface is intuitive and I was able to generate my first cut list within minutes. The developer’s online support is also simple to use if you have any questions. Try this, you’ll like it!

I am so happy with this app, I’m sure it saved me at least a day or 2 of laying out my cuts on paper and reduced my waste and errors. With the price of materials this will pay for itself many times over. After getting the feel for the software and how to organize my project, it took me less than 30 minutes to get the data entered for my kitchen cabinet project. Because they offer a generous trial period I could have finished my project without paying for it but I would have felt guilty and cheap. It is obvious that much time and effort went into building this software and I am very impressed with it.

I downloaded the free trial version. It was incredibly easy to enter in all the data, and i thought it did a great job plotting out, with minimal waste. I was disappointed that i could not print more than 1 page in the first 3 day trial, without upgrading. I understand why they did this, so that you do upgrade. If i had a business, i would wouldn’t hesitate buying it for $14.99, but for the hobbiest that may only use this a few times a year, I feel that may be a bit more than I want to spend.
  • Incredibly handy project planning and management tool.

I can’t image starting a large build without the app generated PDF print out on my clipboard. Best cut list app I’ve used so far. Bonus points for being more accurate with estimating costs!

First: The trial SHOULD be fully featured and last just a few days. The app is really inexpensive when you consider the amount of time and materials you save with it. A single BB 3/4” ply in my region is $70-$100. If you’re like me you are constantly measuring and going back and fourth between tools, saws, saw-horses, etc.. It makes it easy to forget measurements. Bring your device out to the shop and put your measurements on auto pilot. I went from idea to layout to product in just a few hours, huge improvement on my old workflow. The only improvement I would make after a few trial projects is an additional cut modifier option to document dados, rabbits, etc.. with depth width and location on each cut. It’s a 5 star app at what it does for the price.
