Scorecards for Mini Golf

This app is terrible and very glitchy. First major issue: When you go to add a score a little plus / minus icons show up. After clicking on a plus or minus the input field then jumps to another number hole. And you end up clicking back and forth. Takes longer to do this on the phone then fumble around with a paper and pencil one. Second issue: the layout does not utilize the entire screen if it’s just two players so you can’t even see both player names. It should be responsive to any size screen. Third issue: what’s the point of me imputing it digitally if I still have to add all the points in my head. Why not give you a subtotal if you’re points the whole time? This is such a basic functionality app and yet it’s got so many issues.

The app is decent. It works in a pinch. But the Apple Watch app crashes constantly. When you go into an in-progress game, you have to swipe over to the hole you’re scoring; so 15 swipes to get to hold 15. It’s also not very clear how to dismiss the many modal UIs the app uses. And, when you’re scoring a game, you can’t see what time it is, because the app uses a modal UI instead of an actual page. And a game started and scored on the Watch doesn’t transfer to the phone; so no sharing it. :-( If you need to score for two people, works great in a pinch. But the app really needs some polish.

I have been long searching for a simple method of scorekeeping. Every other app is complex. For me I’ve been wanting an extensive solution for the watch. I love the idea of going mini golfing and just bringing my watch and I was blown away at the functionality and detail. Other score keeping apps let you name each player but only using voice. I love how this app uses the standard watch options such as scribble. I love the ability to add more players and even change ball color! That blew me away! The few things I would add would be iCloud syncing! PLEASE add this! This app is great for one time use but not necessarily for keeping a history or record. By adding iCloud syncing I could ditch all other methods of score keeping and go all in. The other things to change would be the UI. Don’t get me wrong, the UI of this app follows a lot of the standard watch UI which is great but the concept of sliding over for each round is a little clunky. Thanks!
