Description

The perfect app to teach your kids about money through completing chores and working towards goals. Don’t listen to us, listen to those that fell in love with it. “I love that the Homey not only encourages kids to develop a strong work ethic, but it teaches kids how money is earned, encourages long-term goal setting, instills real life financial skills, and connects the whole family with a fun approach to paid chores.” Crystal, MoneySavingMom “Homey is a great organizational tool for families!” Best Apps for Kids “Homey helps remind my children what jobs they haven’t done yet, so I don’t need to. It even inspires them to work a little harder to earn allowance. Better yet, they are learning to save up that allowance for a bigger reward.” Gloria, JugglingMother “A picture says a thousand words. And with Homey, those words are “this is the chore you’re supposed to be doing right now.” Snap a photo of your kid’s unmade bed and send it to them with a deadline, and then they can send a photo back once it’s taken care of.” Fatherly Features: - set daily, weekly or monthly recurring or one time chores for the whole family - set chores that are responsibilities and you won't pay for, and jobs to teach kids how to earn money or rewards - manage allowance and extra money rewards for each child - transfer allowance to a bank account (US only), or mark it as payed out in cash - track IOU - add or remove funds from wallet - set saving jars with financial goals - kids learn to manage their funds - Homey syncs across all devices in the household SHOW KIDS HOW MONEY IS EARNED With Homey you can pay kids commissions based on chores they do around the house like taking out the trash, cleaning their room, or mowing the grass. And you can also set responsibilities that are required to teach kids that everyone needs to contribute to the household. SUPPORT LONG-TERM GOALS AND SAVING Teach kids delayed gratification and financial responsibility by providing them with incentives that differ in value. With Homey kids learn they need to work longer or harder to earn more. TEACH REAL LIFE FINANCIAL SKILLS Homey enables you to transfer allowance and money kids earn directly to their savings or checking account or tracks the money as IOU and pay it out in cash. This way you can teach your child how banking works, they can accumulate interests on their savings and you can be sure that their money will stay safe. By subscribing to Homey Monthly or Homey Yearly you'll get access to other great features like: Unlimited family members. Connecting your bank account and safely transferring allowance and chore money directly to your child's savings account. Multiple saving jars for each child. I have Autism, and I need a lot more then just telling me to do stuff to get me to do stuff. You should take productivity dysfunctions like this into consideration in your next update. Also, why do you need my identity or Financial Info?
  • Awful!

Less than 2 minutes into trying to set up this app, it won’t let me enter our family name because there’s another family somewhere in the world with our last name, so it asks “Do you want to be Lastname 1?” NO! I do not want a number showing up in my family name.

This app is basically unusable free. With the free version, there’s no way to stop a child from marking all of their tasks as done and getting the allowance for it. The “finishing a task requires approval” is disabled for free, and the “take away the allowance for uncompleted tasks” is also disabled. And this app fails if the child looks at their jar, sees $3, but it’s actually $1 because they didn’t properly do their tasks. Basically unusable unless you’re willing to fork over a subscription.

We have been using this app for a month and a half. We finally learned how to do everything with it and it was helping with our day to day. Until our account was randomly deleted. We now have no access and we paid for the year. I have tried to contact support but have not heard anything. And, yes, it was deleted. When I tried to click ‘forgot password’ my email had ‘deleted’ at the end of it. Hopefully this has not happened to too many people and if it is remedied I will change my review to reflect that.

Ugh. Every time i open the app to sign up, it just sits at the first screen and doesn’t allow me to select create new family—as if it isn’t registering that I’m selecting anything.

I like being able to enter in my chores and assigning who does the chore. I’m entering the chore list I have encountered some issues. First, if I change the due date then the recurrence, it changes back the due date. It get very frustrating trying to set something to have it keep resetting. Second, when I filter by date it has the chores by week which I love, however it sorts them wrong. If something is due oct 2, it places it in the oct 8-14 week, which is the complete wrong week. Third I wish each chore had the option to check it off, not just the ones due today. If I do a chore early I have to go in and select the options button and then mark as completed. Finally a calendar view would be nice to see a what is happening each day. It helps me to make sure I am putting chores on the correct day
