Tried "editing" and deleted a point. Spent time figuring out to use the "-" sign, not a "delete". Wanted to undo but could not find a way. Tried Edit/Undo and that made the tracks worse.
  • Won't work for me

Won't import GPX data that had been exported from Motion X GPS app on my iPhone. Just wasted $4.99.
  • Great features, poor performance

Editing files with a large number of trackpoints (32,000) makes the app unresponsive. The app appears to be single-threaded, wasting the power of modern computers.
  • Nice but Limited

Nice app to view and edit GPX files. Sometimes when I try to select a waypoint on the map, it doesn't work. I'm not sure what's going on there. It would be nice if the app would allow me to select multiple waypoints from the map using a click and drag. Simply deleting extension data is, I think, not the correct solution. I would prefer if the app would save the data somehow. Perhaps schemas for popular extensions could be added to the app.

First experience right out the gate; the file I saved cannot be opened. App complains that "the file has unknown extensions" and must be converted first. Whaaat?? I just saved it with this app! Other wacky stuff: 1. Units of distance are imperial, cannot select metric. (yes I am in USA but I do meter, NOT feet) 2. After removing a number of track points, the speed data for those track points remain in the file. 3. Show boundary turned off doesn't work, boundary still shows. 4. Every track when opens shows the trackpoints (dots) even though I turned them off before. 5. Bottom half display below map is not persisted i.e. I need to select it each time I open a file. 6. Display updates quite slowly; selecting a point in the track or info display takes seconds to update.
  • It is not working for me

I downloaded this to help plot waypoints for fishng in the Gulf of Mexico. I use a garmin chartplotter which uses the GPX file. I was hoping I could quickly add waypoints in this editor and transfer them by memory card to my plotter. Everytime I try to create a known waypoint in the editor it is showing it way out of place. I tried on several different known offshore coordinates and I get the same results or an error. Most results convert to and show an address in Mexico Beach, FL. It’s like it defaults to an address on land instead of showing the actual coordinates offshore. I tried to use your contact us from your website and that link doesn’t work either, so I had no choice but to reach out to you through this review.

Does most all the things you'd want a GPS editor to do - and does them simply and well for a very reasonable price.
  • Title of app is misleading

This app does some things but not others. Be sure you read carefully the help files before buying! One thing you CANNOT do is edit the raw XML .gpx file, and this is disappointing for an app called GPX Editor. Teh raw XML is "read only." You can delete way points and route points, and you can append .gpx files (I have not tested this, but they say so in the help files). The other VERY disappointing thing is the current app will not read and display the information as indicated under the File tab. Finally, there is no way to contact the author to get help. Unless this thing does exactly what you need, I would pass. It appears to be a dead app.
  • Love the concept, major performance issues

Seems like this app has become a LOT worse since I upgraded to OS Monterey and an M1 MAX MacBook Pro. I liked this app a lot on my previous (Intel-based) MacBook Pro, but it has become effectively unusable for me now. I hope the beachballs can be addressed.

This app is really powerful and for just $4.99 its an amazing deal. I use this app to view GPS waypoint and track files to help me plan my backcountry biking, hiking and motorcycling trips. Thank you!
