Get things done! The award-winning Things app helps you plan your day, manage your projects, and make real progress toward your goals. Best of all, it’s easy to use. Within the hour, you’ll have everything off your mind and neatly organized—from routine tasks to your biggest life goals—and you can start focusing on what matters today. “Things offers the best combination of design and functionality of any app we tested, with nearly all the features of other power user applications and a delightful interface that never gets in the way of your work.” —Wirecutter, The New York Times KEY FEATURES • Your To-Dos Your basic building block is the almighty To-Do—each a small step toward a great accomplishment. You can add notes, tag it, schedule it, and break it down into smaller steps. • Your Projects Create a Project for any big goal, then add the to-dos to reach it. Use headings to structure your list as you outline your plan. There’s also a place to jot down your notes, and a deadline to keep you on schedule. • Your Areas Create an Area for each sphere of your life, such as Work, Family, Finance, and so on. This keeps everything neatly organized, and helps you see the big picture as you set your plans in motion. • Your Plan Everything on your schedule is neatly laid out in the Today and Upcoming lists, which show your to-dos and calendar events. Each morning, see what you planned for Today and decide what you want to do. The rest is down to you :) MORE THINGS TO LOVE As you dive deeper, you’ll find Things packed with helpful features. Here are just a few: • Reminders — set a time and Things will remind you. • Repeaters — automatically repeat to-dos on a schedule you set. • This Evening — a special place for your evening plans. • Calendar integration — see your events and to-dos together. • Tags — categorize your to-dos and quickly filter lists. • Quick Entry — create to-dos from anywhere, as soon as the thought hits you. • Quick Find — instantly locate to-dos, headings, or tags. • Type Travel — jump from list to list with your keyboard; just start typing! • Widgets — see your lists on the desktop or in Notification Center. • Mail to Things — forward an email to Things; now it’s a to-do. • Markdown — structure & style your notes. • And much more! MADE FOR MAC Things is tailored to the Mac with deep system integrations as well. A great example is Quick Entry with Autofill: a shortcut that grabs content from other apps and adds it to Things for you, such as a link to a website or an email you want to get back to. You can also enjoy a beautiful dark mode at sunset, connect your calendars, open multiple windows, add a variety of widgets, import from Reminders—Things can do it all! There’s even Shortcuts integration if you want to automate your workflows. STAY PRODUCTIVE ON THE GO Things also has full-featured apps for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro (sold separately). All your devices sync seamlessly via our free Things Cloud service. It’s great to have everything at your fingertips when you need it! • Almost Perfect (Better than anything else)

Things has been the flexible, adaptable to-do list that I had wanted for years. The interface is simple and very easy to learn, but with optional functionality that allow you to build a relatively sophisticated task list/scheduler/brainstorming tool. The only thing I find myself wishing for is a more robust "repeat task" function. Currently, you can only choose between every day, week, month and year. Having those four basic options is NOT enough for real life. It would also make my life easier if the persistance behavior was simpler and more easily available. Some repetitious tasks can be disregarded if you were unable to attend to them, while others need to be done regardless. Some tasks are more important than others and should have alarms if overlooked. While those are fairly granular issues, it is the optional capabilities that make Things 3 so valuable. It can be as simple or as sophisticated as you need.

  • No end-to-end encryption in 2024! Beware!

This app has a nice UI and is very intuitive but it does not have end-to-end encryption of your data, which leave it exposed! This is unacceptable in 2024. While the app is nice, this drawback makes it unusable to someone who values security and online privacy. The developers need to add end-to-end encryption ASAP! Once this must-have functionality is implemented, I will gladly amend my rating.

Simple but extremely powerful. One of the most polished app I've ever used.

  • LOVE this app, but...

It would be nice to have a browser-based version of this app similar to Sunsama and TickTick. My job is in a Windows environment, and easily adding work-related reminders without the friction of pulling out another device would help tremendously.

Perfect balance of simplicity, elegance of design, and ability to customize and work-around. Such a joy to connect with this app, which in a few days seems to have streamlined and accelerated my workflow. Full five stars to Team Things, with a marzipan Matterhorn on top for extra credit!
  • The BEST Things in life...

I'm one of those intensely organized/planner types, however well I try to hide it. For years, I've been using Apple Notes app on my phone and MacBook to feed the listing needs. It wasn't perfect though, and I went on a quest to identify and test other apps. Some of my desired features: integrated calendar feature (check!): the ability to label (check!), categorize (check!), and projectize (check!), WHILE integrating project tasks into daily checklists (CHECK!). I have a slightly irrational love of Things. It's brilliant in so many ways, and I'm so grateful for the developers - it's like they could see into how my brain works (as terrifying, for them, that must be). The interface is easy to use, but there are lots of features to play with, all without being overwhelming or complicated. I use the cloud sharing between my iPhone and MacBook, (and AppleWatch). I've moved ALL my Notes into Things. The searchability is great, both in terms of ease of use, and accuracy of results. I've planned a two week inter-railing trip using the project structure and it's worked fantastically. Finally, I like the logbook, and the ability to print (any view). It's great to see what I've done, but also to have the record. Great work Cultured Code Team!! Please don't change a Thing, well maybe to add a sharing feature to allow sharing between users, like within a couple or family group. That would put the cherry on top of it all.
  • So close to perfection, needs MUCH better search

I've been using Things for so many years and the same shortcoming comes back to aggravate me time and time again. IT NEEDS A BETTER SEARCH FUNCTION. There is no way to search on two or more words unless they are found EXACTLY in the order in a task. For example, if I want to find the last time I changed my car battery, I can search on "Buick" or "battery" (both of which return hundreds of other entries for me) but you can't search "Buick battery" (or Buick battery or any other regular expression style search) unless the original task was explicitly written with "Buick battery" in it in exactly that order. It just makes looking up past tasks unnecessarily inefficient and time consuming.
  • The todo app I keep coming back to

I've had Things 3 since 2017. Multiple times I admit I've been lured away by some other shiny new app or task management paradigm. I'll use it for awhile, and maybe even believe I've permanently switched. But it's never been the case. I always come back to Things. There's just way too many well-designed features polished little touches that they *got right.* And I literally only paid for it once, no monthlies or yearlies. (Well once each for macOS and iOS). But SO worth it!
