  • Only use it for the WiFi part - it’s terrible

    By mrmandazi
I don’t know which team is responsible for the Google WiFi but it is not easy to use and the device names do not even match the actual device names. It’s not easy to navigate or configure. I like the Google WiFi mesh hardware but the software needs major improvement. It was better when Google wifi app was independent of the Home app.
  • Convenient but needs improvement

    By ammbooth
•••4/2/3024: -Convenient; 1-notification whenever a new device connects to the network. -Improvement; 1-*no easy way to delete old/discarded devices. 2-^cumbersome to block/delete unknown devices/users, tried deleting only the paused unknown devices but every device was deleted. ^Help instructions aren’t user friendly and blocking certain devices takes to many steps. Please simply the instructions and the steps to accomplish a satisfactory result for any process in the app. •It’s just to complicated to manage the devices (unknown and known devices/users). SIMPLIFY FOR YOUR CUSTOMERS! •••4/27/2024: •App is buggy, while scrolling through devices currently on connected to the WiFi network the list of devices will automatically skip ahead or backwards by passing several devices. Closed/re-opened app same problem. Also deleting the unknown devices is virtually impossible to do, so for now paused those devices until a Google update will simplify the process. •••4/28/2024: still unable to delete the unknown devices listed in the WiFi Network. Process doesn’t work and it’s too convoluted. Need to simplify the process and confirm that it works before forwarding a new update. Waiting! •••5/12/2024: rate this app 1*/5*. Sadly very limited improvement. Finicky and complicated for certain processes. Need to simplify and thoroughly test out the updated before offering to the users. •5/24/2024: QUIRKY!
  • Broken

App automatically opens to the last screen you have open. I use the remote feature to control my Google TV. However, whenever I reopen the app, the remote won't load and I have to back out to the main screen and then click two more buttons to get back to the remote. Huge pain.
  • Never can find how to change it to a different network

    By jjaddjjddy
Google is telling me to change it in connection settings in the Google home app but I can’t find it and you probably can’t either if you look
  • Nice

    Nice job
  • Push Ads

    By umichscoots
This app has unremovable push-based ads to enroll in savings plans. I will not be buying any more Google products, because to disable them I have to disable all camera notifications.
  • Unreliable and too hard to use

    By Chasfromohio
The software is poorly designed for set up and maintenance. I had to reset a password in my house. The system stopped working. When I went to update the password in the app, nothing worked. There isn’t a password resent. You need to set the system up all over again. In my case the system wouldn’t forget the old newwork. The directions said to reset the nest speaker to factory condition. Tried the process recommended repeatedly, but it didn’t work. Now I’m stuck with a doorbell and speaker that doesn’t work.
  • Won’t connect

    By Hahgdhshd
After reading instructions it doesn’t show what to do if it won’t connect. I have a google nest mini and after reading online instructions, it still won’t work. Maybe it’s on my end but super annoying
  • Google Nest is The Worst!

    By Victorywoman
Had I known that ADT was using Google Nest, I would have stopped the installation. I was out of town when the alarm and cameras were installed and my wife didn’t know any better. SimpliSafe is much more user friendly. The Google Nest doorbell has to be dismantled and recharged about every 90 days or so. I just found this out today when the tech came back out to get the system fixed.
  • Chromecast

Impossible to set up chromecast I’m close to throwing it out. Fire stick is much easier.
