I use dies with micrometer settings and I wanted an app that recorded the micrometer settings so that when I would go back to a round I had a recipe for, I could quickly setup my dies to what I had them set for last time. If your dies don't have micrometer settings you can also use turn counts or what ever you might use to quickly set up your dies. I also found that recording velocities at the range was too many clicks for the few apps that even record that information. So I put in a voice dictation microphone next to the velocity field in the Shot String section. With this, you can just shout out velocities instead of having to input them with a keyboard. The rest of the app description is below. Hand Load is a private, bench-ready journal for handloaders. Track every component, log every recipe, and capture every shot — without ads, accounts, or anyone watching over your shoulder. Built for shooters who already know their way around a press: precision rifle competitors, pistol shooters chasing a node, hunters tuning a hunting load, and anyone who wants their data organized as carefully as their bench. REPLACES THE NOTEBOOK • Recipes — bullet, powder, primer, brass, charge weight, COAL, powder measure setting, notes • Components — log inventory and check what you have on hand • Range sessions — shot-by-shot velocity, group data, weather, and impressions • Statistics — average velocity, standard deviation, extreme spread, and group metrics aggregated automatically AT THE BENCH AND AT THE RANGE • Dictation for hands-free entry — call out velocities between shots and keep your eyes downrange • Imperial / metric toggle — grains or grams, fps or m/s, inches or millimeters • Designed for cold hands, gloved fingers, and bright sunlight • Works fully offline; no signal required at the range PRIVATE BY DESIGN • No accounts, no sign-up, no tracking • No analytics, no ads, no third-party SDKs • Your data syncs through your own iCloud account between your iPhone and iPad — Apple's encrypted infrastructure, not ours • We never see your loads, your inventory, or your range data IMPORTANT — READ BEFORE USE Hand Load is a record-keeping journal. It is NOT a source of load data, and it does NOT validate or recommend safe powder charges. Every load you record must be developed and verified against current published data from your powder, bullet, and primer manufacturer. You are responsible for the safety of every round you load. Reloading carries inherent risk; if you are new to handloading, learn under qualified supervision before using this app. PRICING One-time purchase. No subscriptions. No upgrade fees. REQUIREMENTS iOS 17 or later. iCloud account required for sync across devices (optional — the app works fully on a single device without it).
