  • Keeps Getting Worse

There are some great books on this app but you’d better know exactly what you want, because the search capabilities are poor and the “Suggested For You” algorithm seldom changes much. What has tipped me to walk away though is a recent problem over the last few months. When I sign off and come back later, the book is inevitably some pages back from where I left it. Nothing to do but flip forward and hope I remember where I was. Life is too short. Follow up- cancelled my subscription today after trying unsuccessfully to log in multiple times through multiple methods. Can’t even get a help desk ticket. Have they fired their IT staff or what?

They took off SO much material after it become Everand. Scribd had the documents feature, which I predominantly used. I probably won’t renew my subscription

They lock books after you start reading one so you have to renew it’s absolutely crazy shady business.
  • App is Not Great

I love the service but the app is so unreliable. Half of the time it won’t load because it says I have no connection (I do). Or it’ll randomly restart my audiobook.

I loved my Scribd. This app, not so much. DO NOT GET SCRIBD UNTIL THEY FIX THIS ISSUE! Not worth the frustration. It’s takes forever buffering even when you’ve downloaded the book! Definitely an inferior app. Bring me back my old app!
  • It’s a FRAUD AND RIP OFF!!

“Daniel” is always the rep who sends the emailed “RATE OUR SUPPORT SERVICE”, when they never even respond to any requests for help to begin with. Just go off on them. There’s no “ticket”, if there’s a developer response here for anyone’s review, THEY LIE. No one gets a “ticket”, just ignore help requests. Everands rubes should bring a class action lawsuit to get back $ repayment for being defrauded.
  • App won’t work unless I have the screen open

I enjoyed scrib’d but since it’s changed to Everand I’ve had issues. Since the latest update I can’t even listen to my audio books without it closing once my screen goes dark. This makes it impossible to listen unless I keep my phone open and the app open. It defeats the purpose of listening to the audiobook. For the amount I pay a month, I’d like to be able to use this app without it crashing on me.

I really like Everand but at least once up to three times daily the app won’t load and says there’s no connection. I follow the suggested instructions and it still fails to load. I have to use the website instead.

I’ve been a subscriber for YEARS, but since they split Scribd into Everand I’ve had continuous problems. Audiobooks will randomly restart, titles I’m actively reading or listening to disappear from the top of my ‘saved’ list and have to be searched for (great while driving 😬) and often the app won’t load at all, saying there’s a connection issue on my end (every other app works fine). I finally tried deleting the app to reload it, and now I can’t even log in. They’re trying for two-factor authentication except it just keeps looping from ‘enter the code we emailed you’ to ‘sign in’ and back to ‘we’ve sent you a code’. All I wanted to do was listen to a book while doing dishes, and instead I’m wasting time trying to get the app to work. The frustration isn’t worth it anymore. So long, and thanks for all the fish. EDIT: just realized that I’d paid for a year almost a month ago, and no option for a prorated refund. Great. Enjoy my money, deleted app
