  • Fantastic, powerful

    By Daniel I
I love the ability to remote control my iPhone 15 Max Pro with my iPad, super helpful when using the back cameras, particularly for interviews. It does everything I want it to do. Great to have so much control of the cameras, audio, quality, white balance, etc. It is like using a pro camera, or as close as a phone camera can get. Thanks for creating this!
  • Awesome

A bit pricey, but the best camera app out there.
  • Max stream resolution capped at 1080 p

    By cgrella
Max resolution for live streaming is capped at 1080p and not 4k. Tester in store with apple Genius Bar managers using 4k equipment. So far filmic support not able to diagnose issue. Tested on Ecamm and obs. Same results. Tested into web cam online resolution site. Same results. Just doesn’t work as advertised. If support can post a video showing they get verifiable 4k resolution into live streaming app and not just “it should work” over text email then I’ll consider changing the review. But until then, it just doesn’t work.
  • Subscription??!?

    By blackFlame the brothaWize
I purchased this app in 2021. It’s been quite a while since I used it last (used only twice). However, I opened it this evening and asked to subscribe. I’m all for supporting developers since you guys put in countless hours to make amazing products but I feel let down. As long as I’m still able to access the Legacy version, we’re on good terms.
  • There is better now

    By ThisNicknameMightNotBeTaken!
Unfortunately if you want to catch an amazing shot but you are in a place where there is no data, the app will not launch. To me that makes this app useless. Bye.
  • You stole from us

    By Term1991
You clearly stole from us when you took away our product that WE PAID FOR and want us to pay monthly for?! I’m going to be looking into legal action.
  • Disappointment over subscription-based model move

    By Nikon guy.
Filmic Pro, once a beacon of promise in the world of mobile filmmaking, has taken a grievous misstep with their recent shift to a subscription-based model. What was once a beloved tool for many, myself included, has now become a source of disappointment and frustration. The decision to transition to a subscription model feels like a betrayal to the loyal customers who invested in the app at a premium price. It's a move that prioritizes profit over customer loyalty, and it's disheartening to see a company forsake its dedicated user base in pursuit of greed. There's a sense of disloyalty in the air, as if Filmic Pro has turned its back on the very people who helped build its reputation. It's a stark reminder that in today's market, customer satisfaction often takes a backseat to financial gain. Moreover, the feeling of being robbed is palpable. Having already paid a significant amount for the app, it's incredibly frustrating to now be faced with additional subscription options upon opening it. It's a clear case of theft, where the company is attempting to extract even more money from its customers under the guise of added features or benefits. I fear that this shift may only be the beginning, with the potential for further price hikes down the line. It's a troubling prospect for anyone invested in the world of mobile filmmaking. As for me, I can no longer support a company that shows such disregard for its customers. I'll be removing Filmic Pro from my devices and seeking out alternatives that value their users over profits. Good luck to Filmic Pro with their new model, but they've lost a once-loyal customer in the process.
  • I was swindled

    By itsmeyeragainffs
Count me among those who were swindled. I bought the app bundle and now I am greeted by rediculous subscription prices. As soon as I finish this review, I'm off to watch youtube videos on the blackmagic app. It would be great if apple baked some protections into the app store for this issue. They could warn you about app upgrades that steer you away from a version that you own to a version that is subscription based.
  • Remote Freezes When Switching lenses

    By AlphaStunner
Severely lacking in QA. I tried to use this about half a year ago and it was hot garbage then. And apparently still is now due to lack of testing that features work as expected. Switching lens types in remote control mode causes preview to freeze.
  • Unsure of Filmic’s future

    By Steven Dempsey
I am a long time user of the app and am currently using the legacy version but have been poking around version 7 and it seems like there are some nice upgrades and I really like the new interface. Here are the reasons I hesitate to subscribe… From what I can gather, the entire original Filmic Pro team was let go at the end of last year. There have been no new updates other than maintenance bug fixes for 8 months. There are ongoing issues with gimbal compatibility on both version 7 and the legacy version and there is no sign they will be fixed. These are issues that were previously fixed in other versions but were broken again in the latest versions. There have been no updates on Filmic’s YouTube channel for 11 months aside from a showcase video of hot air balloons (there was a promise almost a year ago that it was going to be an exciting year of frequent new features). On top of all of that, Black Magic has released a free app with a lot of the same functionality and there has been no response by Filmic. All this leads me to have little faith in the future of the app. With the release of the BM camera app, Filmic should be yelling from the rooftops reassuring customers that they have a solid plan but they remain silent. I invite Filmic Pro to respond to these comments and make me feel like starting up a subscription is a good investment.
