  • I loathe this app

And here's why: I'm running late for work, frantically trying to see when the next train arrives. I open this app, I tap on my station and... I get an ad. A freaking ad!! I can't think of a worse possible time to force users to sit through an ad than when they desperately need the info on the other side of that ad instantly. developers, find better placement for your ads!!
  • This map is AWFUL

It shows you an ad while you’re trying to look up if a train that’s coming goes to where you need it to. You don’t have enough time to wait for the ad to finish before the train leaves, so you miss your train. Don’t waste your time.
  • The ads is too long

I get that ads are needed to support the app., but the timing of the ads need to be adjusted so that it doesn’t jump out at the most crucial time when one needs to view the map to make a critical decision. The length of the ads needs to be trimmed down as well.
  • Ads make it completely unreliable

The amount, frequency, and length of ads make the app annoying to use at best and completely unusable at worst. The UI is outdated and looks old. I’m convinced they make the unpaid version unusable so you’re willing to shell out yet another monthly subscription for an app that gives no unique information and offers nothing special.

  • Too ad heavy

Full screen video ads popup as I'm trying to quickly look up directions or stop info while riding. They're the kind that are hard to close and cause accidental clicks. Incredibly annoying as I wait for it to play and almost miss my stop.

I know that because it is a free app, you need funding from ads, but if you use this app, you are most likely out of town, and want to find the best subway route fast, or you live in New York, and you are in a hurry, trying to find the best route. Ads every other second is the last thing you need when you are in a hurry. Again, I know that you get your funding from ads, but this is out of control.

Anytime you want to see the subway map you have to sit through 60 seconds of ads. If you just want to be able to see a subway map for to MTA site and bookmark the free map.
