I love this app because I get to learn so much about Scripture and how to study it! I mostly use it for school, but I will continue to use it when I need to study the Word on my account.

I’m reading “The Message” after having read KJV, RSV, NIV and NRSV. I now read and laugh out loud. Same Word with a new attitude!

This app is just fantastic. I would love a feature to write notes with the Apple Pen near bible verses.

It’s so hard to highlight sentences. When I try to highlight it includes texts or the next sentence I don’t want highlighted and I can’t figure out a way to undo it. It’s also hard to use my pen without it going to the next page
  • Concordance/Searching issues

BlueletterBible is much easier (and free) to use to do concordance searches. Biblehub is often very good for free commentaries. I use Logos but for what I paid for it it’s too complicated and not as user friendly. Even with some training it’s still tough. Logos does have in depth resources though, but you really have to pay for them. Again, Logos is good at their business, and know how to make money on this. But I use it for some really in depth studies when required and it’s good for that, for sure. Good to put all your eggs in different baskets, not just one. (:
  • Frustrating Technical Issue

I’ve used this software on the desktop for a while and it’s excellent. However, one issue that has me disappointed has to do with the iPad version and difficulty with downloading content you purchase within the app itself. Doesn’t download right away, or in my case, after going through a number of support articles and instructional from Logos Site, and calling their support service, I was unable to even access the content at all. When you call the support line there is an automated option “4” to press if you are missing content, which makes me think this is more common than it should be, but I never have issues with other in app book or media purchased, like kindle, audible and others. I like the idea of putting books in one central place, instead of having to jump back and forth between Kindle and other apps, but this doesn’t appear to work like it should. I did receive two confirmation emails from apple stating that I was billed for these two titles, but in speaking with the Logos CS rep, I was told that this was an apple issue and that I would need to contact them. Maybe it is, but why? Seems like this is a Logos and Apple problem to me but I don’t know. The CS rep was very professional, but this kind of technical issue shouldn’t be hard to resolve. It discourages people from using the app and gives the illusion of second rate production quality. I have at this time requested a return on these purchases from apple, no idea on status of that claim… I will not be using the tablet version of the app until things like this are more precise. Im sharing this so others will be aware of the potential issue they may encounter. Logos is great stuff, but it’s a business like anything else on the app market place and thus things like this should be shared. There are resources to assist with downloading purchased titles, and CS people were kind and professional, but those virtues don’t fix technical problems. Hopefully someone at Logos will put fresh eyes on this, I can’t be the only one… and work on a solution.

I use Connect the Testaments for my devotions daily. With this I read through the Bible and begin to understand God’s Word.
