Plug in and tune your electrics and acoustics quickly and easily with 1/10th cent accuracy. Peterson Tuners has offered tuning solutions for over 70 years and is the only company specializing in hardware and software tuning products for all levels of musicians. FEATURES: • Stand-by mode to reduce battery usage or freeze the display. • Guided Mode Tuning offers an alternate strobe display that slows the strobe bands one-by-one as you come closer to tune. • Speed control for strobe display; dampen the response for a longer note display. • 12 Temperaments with adjustable root control. • Display all sharps note display. • Assisted Low Note Detection (ALND) helps capture very low frequencies. • Mains hum filter option reduces the chances of the tuner latching on to 50 or 60Hz cycle hum when using a direct line-in connection or while using the app during device charging. • Smooth, real-time strobe display allows you to achieve an unmatched level of accuracy. • Note/Octave window displays the correct note and octave for the note being tuned. • Cents display allows you to see how far out of tune your note is in cent values. • Tune in auto or manual mode. • Toggle the display to show: cents, Hz, MIDI note value for the note being tuned. • Glowing flat/sharp indicators assist when tuning a note very far from the target position. • Noise filter: Use the noise filter when utilizing an external mic or clip-on tuning device to help reduce the effect of extraneous environmental noise during tuning. • Input boost: The input boost will raise all input frequencies by +24dB. • Calibration mode: iStroboSoft can be calibrated to an external source guaranteeing 1/10th cent accuracy. • Drop/Capo mode: iStroboSoft will auto-transpose notes up or down to one full octave. • Adjustable Concert A: Change the Concert A reference of the tuner to accommodate tuning to a fixed instrument, such as a piano, or tune instruments that do not utilize the typical Western A440 reference. • Full screen mode permits the strobe display to be maximized on screen to allow better viewing from a distance. • Change strobe display colors to accommodate different lighting environments or set a preferred user color for those with limited color palette recognition. Use the built-in mic on your device for tuning or connect directly via the headphone jack using an approved adaptor cable or interface. Devices without a headphone jack can connect a pickup or mic using the lightning-to-audio adaptor. Support via email at: info@strobosoft.com or call 708.388.3311 M-F 8am-5pm (CST)

  • The absolute best!

It is such a luxury to be able to use this app on a tablet and benefit from the humongous screen, compared to the relatively small screens on most tuners, even strobe tuners. I used to own a Conn strobe tuner. That was an old analog beast, and it made lots of mechanical noise all by itself. This is even more accurate and totally silent. If you set intonation on your instruments yourself you absolutely need a strobe tuner, and this is a very elegant option because of the ability to use a tablet size screen. There is a learning curve when using strobe tuners because they are so sensitive. It is essential that you study up on this before you dig in or you will wonder why the notes don’t stabilize. It’s actually because the notes do not stabilize on your instrument. They are moving constantly as harmonics jump out and die away, so you need to know how to use the tuner and what indicates a note is in tune. Most other types of tuners filter out those jittery fluctuations, which seem to make tuning fast and easy, but actually give you a much less accurate assessment of what the string is doing. Because strobe tuners are so superior, they show you everything that is going on and you have to know how to read it. Is extremely simple once you get the hang of it and well worth the effort for an instrument that plays in tune all over the neck. ***BEST RESULTS I RECOMMEND USING THIS WITH AN AUDIO INTERFACE FOR PLUGGING IN YOUR INSTRUMENT IF IT HAS A PICK UP. YOU WILL BE REWARDED WITH SMOOTHNESS AND ACCURACY. I AM USING A FOCUSRITE WHICH IS BUS POWERED FROM MY TABLET AND IT IS A FABULOUS EXPERIENCE***

I’ve patiently waited for updates to improve note recognition and have been disappointed. I have the paid version of the app, but can’t justify adding upgrades until this is fixed

Doesn’t track as well as other tuners I’ve used, especially with low notes. Display concept not especially helpful or innovative.

Far and away the best and most useful tuner app. Got it due to how much I liked the clip on one, (which is fantastic for guitar type headstocks but could use a little work for violins). This app is that plus some additional strobe bands. Even without the add-ins it’s the best tuner app, and the frequency analysis tools are indeed nice add-ins. Love it.

  • Temperaments

Hi, just wanted to inform the developers do double-check the cent inputs for some of the temperaments, as well as allow users to create their own temperaments or see how those available are constructed using a circle of tempered or pure fifths and thirds, allowing users to play around with that. For Vallotti, I’ve noticed A# seems to be way too flat. The app is not bad.

While I have thoroughly enjoyed using this app through the years for it’s accuracy and convenience—I believe there are currently a few bug fixes that need to be address to improve compatibility with current iOS. My app has been dodgy ever since the last few iOS updates in my iPhone 11; I switched from the iPhone 11 to the iPhone 14 Pro recently, and it still has been very jumpy—it won’t lock in on the notes, even with the proper sweeteners and noise filters engaged. It also would be great if an updated dongle was offered—one that employed a Apple Lightning connector.
