GO BEYOND PAPER Turn your iPhone or iPad into a book with the free Kindle app—so you can read anytime, anywhere. Explore these reading features in the Kindle app: • Read your way. Customize your text size, font type, margins, text alignment, and orientation (portrait or landscape)—and choose whether to turn pages from left to right or continuously scroll. Read comfortably day and night with adjustable brightness and background colors. Go to the Aa menu in your book to get started. • Look up words, people, and places while you read. Breeze through words you don’t know and characters you can’t remember with the built-in dictionary, X-Ray, Wikipedia lookup, instant translations, and search within your book. Simply tap and hold a word to view its definition, or use the Google and Wikipedia links to get more information. • Track your reading progress. See what percent of the book you’ve read, real page numbers (for most top titles), and how much time you have left in the chapter or book based on your actual reading speed. • Bookmark places you want to revisit, and make highlights and take notes throughout your book. Open My Notebook to see all your notes in the same place. • Hop, skim, and jump with Page Flip. Flip between pages or get a bird’s-eye view of your book with Page Flip—don’t worry, we’ll save your place. • Zoom in on high-definition color images in Kindle books, magazines, comics, and manga. • Sync your books across devices. When you’re reading a book, the Kindle app will automatically sync where you left off—along with any bookmarks, highlights, or notes—so you can start reading on one device and pick up where you left off on another. • When you can’t read, listen. Switch seamlessly from reading your Kindle book to listening to the Audible book, all within the Kindle app. • Get notified when authors you love have new releases. By using this app, you agree to Amazon’s Conditions of Use (www.amazon.com/conditionsofuse) and Privacy Notice (www.amazon.com/privacy).

Use every day to read books, hunt for my next read. One problem, please show me books that are already published. Books to be published 6 months from now are a waste for me. I read a book a day so am constantly looking. Thank you so much.

This is my first using this method of reading books and I have found it be very satisfying and easy to use.

I don’t like not being able to see how far I am in the book, i.e. how much there is left to read.

I love using the Kindle App on my mini tablet. When my last move had about 20% books, I decided to switch to digital format. My library grew larger and without needing more space. Kindle removes a lot of bad issues like physical damage, poor print quality, and lost books. It adds a lot of advantages like easy access to my whole library whenever and wherever I want, now stored on the cloud. It does highlighting, adds notes, marks pages, creates flashcards, and outlines without permanent changes. It’s easier for repetitive reading, changing or removing old notes, highlights, etc. Combined with very good 3rd-party note-taking apps like Notability, Good Notes, and EverNotes (I use them all for different reasons) I can create documents and presentations. Best of all, the Kindle store exposes me to more content than I could ever find anywhere else and oftentimes isn’t available in public libraries (which thank goodness still exist without being commercialized - perhaps the last place on the planet that’s free without ads and spam). Shoutout to all the nonprofits that are copying old print, especially rare books, into digital. My mini tablet is the device I use the most every day and every where as a notepad, day planner, journal, for entertainment, research, and even to make/receive phone calls. The Kindle App lets me enjoy reading the most digital print in one place (with me on my tablet), even offline, for all the activities and roles I do. The Kindle Unlimited subscription is still affordable, but not required. Thanks Amazon.
  • No More Books!

I can say I don’t have to worry about buying anymore paper back or hardcover books ever again.. call me lazy, but I couldn’t pick up a book anymore and read it. Didn’t have the energy. Didn’t feel like turning the light on, getting comfortable, having to sit up to read, having to hold the book with two hands.. now I read on my phone. Everywhere anywhere anytime.. and who doesn’t take their phone everywhere they go? No more books to carry. I got kindle unlimited & have found so many good books on there. For $11 a month I have definitely used up nearly $50 in just a few days of reading books so far. But I will never have to pay the $50! Just the $11 once a month! Also don’t have to wait for books to be delivered anymore. You have to buy them on your browser (safari, amazon.com and select kindle edition when you find the book) and it sends it right to your account. If you’re looking for a good book to read.. The Inmate, Freida McFadden , very good book on kindle unlimited too.

Very disappointing. Characters were poorly developed and the story was not entertaining.
  • Too much lagging

Had no issues with the app before, but now all it does is lag (wifi connected or not)
