I have chronic pain, chronic mental illness, and I’m on disability. I wanted more structure in my day and this helps so much. I also can see all the tasks I do in a day and not just run around aimlessly because I feel like nothing gets done. I plan my weeks ahead of time and the app reminds me of my appointments for the day. With the Plus version I can customize the emojis for each task. I even link exercises to some tasks, like yoga before bed, and they show you little videos for exercises. I’ve gotten friends to sign up and we send each other motivational messages and stay connected on it. This is exactly what I was looking for, thank you.

Finch is a self help app where you grow with a little birb a bird and you can buy outfits and decorate its house. Finch has so many features like setting multiple goals or breathing exercises and soundscapes and reflections. On top of that there is a raffle that finch does where you can be sponsored by a guardian who will pay for plus for the entire month. Finch plus also doesn’t cost that much anyway. Even without plus there are so many things that you can do

You’re seriously telling me that I have to cough up $70 a year *just* to send my girlfriend Comfort vibes? Look, I understand that software development is really, REALLY expensive. I understand that on a very deep, personal level. I also understand what it’s like to not have any money to spend on art assets, sound assets, server maintenance, etcetera. I respect that the developers have to do SOMETHING to keep the lights on. I won’t begrudge anyone for just trying to stay afloat in a world where 1% of the population has 60% of the world’s money and 0% compassion for the other 99% of the population. What I *do* take issue with is the sheer lengths that this app will go to in order to squeeze that $70/year subscription out of you. Every major menu interface has *something* there to remind you that you’re not getting access to the “real” Finch until you fork over more money than some folks (myself included) make in a month. Every day using the app features a new interruption that prevents you from just using the blasted thing until it’s shilled Finch Plus at you like an unskippable YouTube advertisement. They offer you just enough basic functionality to make it clear just how useful the full version of the app would be, and then lock multiple features of various levels of necessity behind that very steep paywall. Heck, they even FORCE a three-day trial of their subscription service onto you. Just to tempt you into having a taste of what the “real” Finch experience is like before they start trying to pry open your wallet. I want to love this app, I want to be able to say that it helped me, I want to be able to recommend it to all my friends and family — but, man, the constant reminders that you’re a second-class user if you don’t PURCHASE MORE PRODUCT feels incredibly scummy and manipulative.
  • Great for Self Care

It’s like caring for a Tamagotchi, but the stupid Tamagotchi you're trying to keep alive is yourself. It’s a lot easier to care for other sometimes and it is to care for yourself and your actions of self-care help your bird grow. there’s a great community and it’s really nice to see an instant impact of self-care because sometimes it can be hard to see the big picture. Great for people with depression or anxiety or dealing with life in general.
  • Great for mental health

My mental health took a decline in the first few months of the year. Some days, it was hard to even get out of bed let alone doing tasks that needed to get done and staying on top of responsibilities. I found this app being advertised on Instagram, and knew I had to download it and try it out. The notifications are more based in positive affirmations than a sense of obligation to open the app, which I find is extremely helpful, especially on the days that don’t necessarily work for that. Very grateful of this app is available, and will continue to use it
