It is good, but is a little hard to take pictures. Other that that, it is great!

I’m dyslexic, and I’ve always loved listening to books, and I can finally listen to the books. I have IRL for free because I have this app for sure I would definitely recommend

I have the “pro” version of this app, which I paid $8.99 for. That is supposed to come with “background playback” which has been inconsistently available to me. Often, the audio will stop if my phone screen turns off or I switch apps, which makes this app essentially unusable. It’s also frustrating that there’s no way to bookmark audio. The app is constantly losing my place in multichapter EPUB files and I have to browse for a while to figure out where I left off. The standard (non-premium) voices are more robotic than many other free voices available on other apps. If the developers improved these voices or even offered a non-subscription premium voice to buy for a reasonable cost, I’d raise my review. I’d appreciate if there were more settings available for voices, such as pitch and sentence pause. I’d like more customization to make the voices more lifelike, if they can’t be improved globally. If I hadn’t paid for the Pro version, I’d be pleased enough with the quality of this as a free app. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for some updates that improve its features.

This app is just perfect for my intended purpose of reading out the clipboard. As a retired asst prof and preacher, I continue to learn by cutting / pasting excerpts from books I read. My learning and retention are greatly enhanced by this app. So many thanks to the company and developers. God bless you all.
  • Randomly starts spelling out words

I thought this was a good solution for me being able to listen to long pdfs while doing housework or driving but it randomly begins spelling out whole paragraphs which is hella annoying. I can’t figure out what triggers it to do this. It’s also hard to get it to change voices for some reason.

I have had the app for a while now and I have to say it’s been going downhill. I’m having to delete and restore weekly and starting today I’ve had to restore purchase 3 times and it’s not letting me have in the background so every time my display shuts off so does my book. I can relate to everyone who says that voices are bad but for under $10 I’m not expecting much.
  • Perfect eReader! Step Aside, Siri!

Finally, after Apple’s updates messing up VoiceOver, time after time, now there’s an app that reads pdf files like an audiobook. Hooked in less than 15 minutes.
