  • good app that has so much potential

In my experience, this app is very reliable and accessible; which is why i use it almost every single day. However, with a few new updates and improvements this app could become so much better. Some updates i would like to see are, ENDLESS PAGES, drawing on images on flashcards, math options for flashcards (exponents, fractions, etc), word block option on flashcards, and so many more!!

I’ve had premium since it released in August. Tried to use the marketplace for the first time and unable to. Now my premium isn’t working. Getting notifications to upgrade whenever I try to edit anything. Really disappointing.
  • New purchase required

If you previously purchased version 5, you have to repurchase version 6 if you want new features. No different than a lot of PC software so I can deal with that. What’s disappointing is they don’t make it clear that you can downgrade to version 5 under settings to get out of the fremium version in version 6 in hopes of you repurchasing app or subscribing. Switching back to Notability.
  • Unethical Payment Practices - Charging Again After Update

Disappointing and Deceptive Monetization Strategy I purchased this app 2 years with the understanding that it was a one-time payment. However, after a recent update, the app is now demanding additional payment to continue using its features. This behavior is highly unethical and feels like a bait-and-switch tactic. As a paying customer, I expected the app to provide ongoing support and updates without having to pay repeatedly for the same product. This practice of charging users again after an update is nothing short of cheating and betrays the trust of loyal customers.

I find this app to be very useful. The features are great and the buttons are very intuitive, *easy to access* and easy to use! I would like to request a feature though: I often edit documents on my iOS devices while siimultaneously reviewing them on my Mac, but about 1 out of 4 times, the information takes more than 20 mins to sync. I have resorted to creating a new document to force it to sync, so a button to force synch would be great. Thank you!
  • GoodNotes: A Decorative Tool, Not for Serious Work

I was nearly ready to switch from Notability to GoodNotes due to Notability's glitches. However, GoodNotes has one significant flaw: it doesn't handle long text well. You have to jump through hoops to copy and paste lengthy text from one document to another. I had to switch between the pen and typewriter tools just to carry text over page by page. This is incredibly time-consuming, especially when I'm dealing with transcripts that can run over 10 pages of client chats. It's shocking that after paying almost $30 for this app, copying long text is still problematic. GoodNotes seems built for handwriting, not as a true digital notebook where you can seamlessly copy and paste text. This defeats its purpose for me. Even with Notability's glitches, I can still work faster than with GoodNotes. I often have to jump from one meeting to another and don't have time for these extra steps. Importing PDFs is also challenging, as it only brings in the first page, requiring extra steps to get the entire document imported. For a handwritten planner or diary, GoodNotes is fine, but it's not suitable for serious work or study—it's more of a decorative tool.

I bought the app, I loved the app, and today - nothing I do will let me log in. I was able to downgrade back down to 5 and had no account showing in which to log out of. I've been signing in with my Apple ID since purchasing - and 6 doesn't recognize my apple ID. I cannot upgrade to 6 even from scratch, I'm being told it looks like I had a previous account and I should find the original login - which was my Apple ID. Very frustrating, I have quite a few notebooks and work documents.

I’ve been using this for classes and general note taking for about a week now and love it. I can’t find where to turn off the spell check without telling it to ignore the suggestions several times and getting it to ask if I’d like to turn it off for the document. I would also really appreciate if it detected when I’m just writing number or equations and not keep popping up suggestion bubbles as I’m writing. Maybe the setting it there but I can’t find it after looking for awhile. Tested the battery drain with this app and it seems pretty good. Overall, it’s about the same as a web browser where viewing is very low drain and scrolling increases it a few watts. When recording, it actually doesn’t take up much more battery, maybe a watt or two. Same with playing back a recording, but it increases drain a lot to turn on noise suppression (by about 5 watts), which is really needed to cut out tapping noises. It also can cut out the lecturers voice which can obviously be a big problem. Hopefully they can work on that.
