  • Keystore issue work around

    1. Quit Xversion 2. Open “Keychain Access" in the Utilities folder 3. Search for a password item with the server address as the item name. It will be in the form: Realm name 4. Delete the item. 5. Open Xversion and try again. It should prompt just one more time. You then need to give the svn command access to the password. 1. Open the new password item in the Keychain and check the Access Control tab, you should just see Xversion. Click the plus button and add the svn executable to the “Access Control” list and save the changes. 2. Try an operation using the svn executable and when it prompts to use the keychain click the button “Always allow”.
  • It gets the job done.

This software works and is kept up to date with newer svn clients. That is more than I can say for the other product that comes up in the app store when you search for 'svn'. If you coud choose multiple filters at once, such as modified and added, when preparing to do commits, then it would be 5 stars.
  • UI has a lot of standard macOS flavor!

Since SVN is just a command line tool, a great UI is everything for any software interfacing SVN. This app actually makes it way to look like a standard macOS app so it does not seem out of place when I use it.
  • Crashes for the main thing I use it for: SVN diffs in a GUI

This program is still crashing months after I bought it even after exchanging email with the developer about the problem. Apparently other people are impacted to, so be careful. I tried working with the developer on this over email but got to busy to try to collect the diagnostics and he hasn't seemed to do much about fixing it, and now it's too late for me to get a refund. If you're getting this for side-by-side diffs among other things, wait until you see review implying that's been resolved before purchasing.
  • Often crashes

When I'm cherry-picking revisions to merge from my trunk to a branch, Xversion will often crash. I'm not sure what the common factor is, but so far it's been when merging revisions to more than a few dozen files. If I relaunch the program and try again, that usually works. But I really dislike the feeling that the app is always about to explode.

I wanted a Subversion client because I still use it. I found this and took a chance - glad I did. App is easy to use, works and if you have a question/problem the developer is fast to respond and help you out.

XVersion is fast, liight and powerful. Everything you might need to do with the command line, you can do with this well-designed interface. Working with repositories and working copies is easy. I recently switched to XVersion from another app and have not looked back. When I had questions, the developer responded quickly. Highly recommended.
