Description

Welltory is your personalized health tracker app. Already loved by 8 million users, featured by TechCrunch, Product Hunt, & Lifehacker. It constantly tells me alarmist (wrong) information despite me being healthy. I get great sleep - it says I’m about to die. I have normal blood pressure - it says it’s “alarming”. I exercise every morning - it says “that exercise drained you”. And on and on like that. It’s like the CNN of health apps - nothing but negative, frantic messages. I’m happy the expensive subscription is finally expired after a year of being insulted by this app.

Even though I reported the issue, the app refuses to correctly report stand time — and by not reporting correctly, it shows zero stand time every day since I got the app. I am active, strength train, walk several miles one or twice a week, and according to the apple app, am on my feet 6-9 hours per day. I also take the sometimes alarming comments on the app with a grain of salt since I’m not convinced that the algorithm accounts for my bradycardia. Giving two stars only because I do check it every day and will take its comments as a guide (even though I don’t understand a lot of it). I would be much happier if the app reported correct data. I’ve also started putting the app developers email trying to sell me a lifetime subscription in the junk folder.
  • No free trials

I like the app and would be interested in buying the premium version, but I don’t like how there’s no free trial of all of the features. Why would I commit $100 to a product I haven’t even seen or tested? It doesn’t make sense to me.

I’m using the free version and wish the paid version could be paid on a monthly basis instead of a 1 shot charge. The free version helps with keeping stress levels down by letting you know when to chill out because your doing too much. And when you begin to burn out it offers breathing exercises and inner to help bring your heart rate down. I’m a nursing student so my stress has been really high but this app has been helping to know where those levels are and when to take care of myself and put things aside for a bit.

Lots of apps have the data. Few seem to actually use it to draw meaningful insights about me specifically, but Welltory does. Full disclosure, I was not paid for this review. Just genuinely impressed that an actual 3-page “scientific research paper” was produced with insights into the effect of cloudiness on my stress levels. It was an unexpected and welcomed personal touch.

Beware! Wanted to sign up for the monthly membership to try out and I was charged for the full year. There is no way to contact anyone and I am stuck with this charge it seems. The data I was getting back from my Apple Watch doesn’t seem accurate at all, and it wasn’t until I went to cancel that I realized I have been charged for the premium. What a scam.

I’ve had this app for probably six months now. Really excited about how they set goals for you. Must say the goals they said are not practical. I’m 58 yrs old I workout every other day. The days I don’t workout they are suggestion that I work out for almost 2 hours. To me this isn’t practical the avg person who works. Works 8 to 10 hr days. This doesn’t count for travel. So please tell me how this is possible. I tried this App again hoping that it evolved. To my dissatisfaction it didn’t. Still doesn’t make sense. I work out four days a week to the extreme. Keeps telling me ridiculous amount of time that I need to work out… I definitely would not recommend this app to anyone. Please don’t waste your money. If you have an Apple phone, I would just use what comes with the Apple apps. If you are intent to use this app, I would use it based on a trial. i’m basing this decision on 1030 pieces of data that it has received from my usage. When I did did contact the developer. Was told that AI would evolve around my workouts. I just noticed that they blocked me from responding on X (Twitter). Wow now that’s really sad. The truth hurts…! The last data I have received telling me, I should be more consistent with my workouts. Really how much more…..
